Basic First Aid Our Basic First Aid class helps business, industry, and government agencies meet OSHA requirements for First Aid training. This is our original 8-hour program. It is a video-based, Instructor-supervised course with lots of confidence-building, hands-on practice. Students learn the Essential and Secondary Skills of Patient Care while following the latest consensus medical guidelines. This flexible training course has been adapted to 3-hour, 4-hour, 6-hour, and 8-hour versions to fit your training needs. Pediatric First Aid Pediatric First Aid is an 8-hour, video-based emergency response care course with Instructor-supervised practices. This program teaches appropriate First Aid skills for the care of infants and children. Adult care skills are demonstrated where appropriate. Pediatric First Aid emphasizes prevention strategies and development of Essential and Secondary Skills of Patient Care in a flexible course that can be tailored to your training needs. Our Pediatric First Aid course makes excellent training for teachers, child care staff, school bus drivers, parents, grandparents, and baby sitters.
Bloodborne Pathogens is a video-based, Instructor-guided course meeting OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030 requirements for training occupationally-exposed employees. Our course focuses on bloodborne diseases (especially HIV and Hepatitis B), the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment, and the requirements of an Exposure Control Plan. This 2-hour course may be presented as a stand-alone class. It may also be offered in conjunction with the 6-hour version of Basic First Aid giving a complete CPR, first aid, and bloodborne pathogens course. Sports Medicine First Aid Sports Medicine First Aid is an outstanding 8-hour CPR/first aid program for training athletic coaches. This video-based, Instructor-supervised course features numerous sports-related scenarios showing football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, and more. Our course helps coaches become an extension of the Athletic Trainer. They learn the skills necessary to respond to an ill or injured athlete. Whether at practice or at a game, coaches learn to give the appropriate care prior to the arrival of professional responders. This program is accepted by the National Athletic Trainers Association for Trainer certification. Advanced First Aid The Advanced First Aid course offers layperson training in pre-hospital emergency care beyond the level of our Basic First Aid program. It takes the Essential Skills of Patient Care to a higher level of assessment and care. Advanced First Aid is a skills-intensive course. A great deal of class time is spent in hands-on practice sessions. This CPR/first aid course emphasizes two-person emergency response skills. It is an excellent course for employees in moderate to high risk jobs or in settings where Emergency Medical Services may be delayed.
