Property owner faces $5,000 fine for tires creating mosquito hazard
The danger for those mosquitoes is real according to Kevin McClure with Benton County Mosquito Control. He says all it takes is one inch of standing water in one of these tires to produce thousands of mosquitoes. Imagine that times hundreds of tires. Plus, these mosquitoes could be more dangerous than most.

Man sleeping in dumpster survives trip into garbage truck, only to be arrested by police
Early Tuesday morning, 27-year-old Jacob Barnett was sleeping in the dumpster at Edison Elementary School. But he forgot it was trash day. The garbage truck came rumbling by on it's route, picked up Barnett and everything else inside the dumpster and threw him in the back of the garbage truck!

Fire at Umatilla Army Depot under control after closing I82 for several hours
The wildfire wreaked havoc on Interstate 82 about 10 miles South of Umatilla. The smoke was so thick that drivers couldn't see feet in front of them and that caused three major accidents on the interstate including one that left a motorcycle with just twisted metal.

Franklin County Sheriff's Office Reserve Program looking for new recruits
For over seven years, Jeff Miller has been a reserve deputy for Franklin County. He volunteers his time on the weekends and works a completely separate job during the week.  Unlike a sheriff's deputy, reserves don't get paid and are only required, by the state, to volunteer up to 16 hours a month.

Northbound Blue Bridge traffic closed over the weekend
If you drive around the Tri-Cities at all, you know how important the Blue Bridge is to get around. Starting Wednesday at 9 o'clock, these lanes the Northbound lanes on Highway 395 will be closed until 5 AM. The lanes will close again over the weekend and it gets a little confusing.
