PASCO, WA.-- Alejandra Villa is one of the many young adults in the Pasco Police Department's Explorer Program. She, like many of us, woke up to the tragic news of the three slain officers in Baton Rouge. However, unlike many of us the tragic events of today have not deterred her from reaching her ultimate goal: becoming a police officer.

Crews cleaning up after Benton City fire
BENTON CITY, WA.-- The fire that burned through Benton City left 4,000 acres scorched. Thanks to firefighters from 15 different districts, as well as airplanes that helped douse the fire from above, no one got hurt, and the flames didn't leave any structural damage.

New knowledge tests will make it more challenging to get your driver's license
OLYMPIA, WA - Getting a driver's license in Washington state is set to get a little more challenging next month when new written tests are introduced.      The new knowledge tests will be 40 questions long and will feature story problems and questions on distracted driving and marijuana impairment. The current test consists of 25 questions.      Department of Licensing Director Pat Kohler says the current test's passage rate ranges from 60 to 70 percent. ...

77 dead, 50 injured after truck plows into crowd during Bastille day celebration in France
NICE, FRANCE - An eyewitness has told The Associated Press that he saw a truck driver slam a vehicle into a crowd of revelers in the French resort city of Nice and then emerge shooting, killing many.      Wassim Bouhlel, a Nice native who spoke to the AP near Nice's Promenade du Paillon, said that he saw a truck drive into the crowd and then witnessed the man emerge with a gun and start shooting.
